Art

God is the great Creator who created all things.

All are made in his image and therefore He has given us the capacity to be creative, to paint, draw and design things. Most of the work in the art department is based around fine art approaches in 2 and 3 dimensions. Pupils are encouraged to appreciate the importance of recording from observation, analysing images and the work of great artists, developing and exploring their own ideas and techniques with a range of materials and presenting personal responses to themes and starting points.

The curriculum is enhanced with visits to art galleries which encourage students to appreciate art outside of the classroom.

The school is equipped with a recently refurbished light and spacious art room with large wooden tables which are ideal for big pieces of work. Work undertaken ranges from drawing and painting to print making and 3D work.

Lower down the school, students are encouraged to participate in group work while older students are able to take art as a GCSE option subject where they will create individual pieces around a set theme.
