Child Development
Child Development is an optional GCSE subject for students in years 10 and 11. It comprises an extensive range of new knowledge for the pupils not yet covered by other subjects in school. Family and Pregnancy, Child Development and Care of the Newborn Child are covered over the course of two years. Each of these topic areas gives invaluable insight to the amazing wonder that is God’s creative miracle of life, how this life is then nurtured and developed physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially and the practical aspect of taking care of this life.
Child development gives both the teacher and students an awe-filled wonder for the creation and sanctity of life which can only come through an in-depth look at the details of man’s existence and the awesome Creator who brings it all into being.
