ICT
The vision of the ICT department is to ensure that all students can use a wide range of technologies to create and share information according to their God given gifts and abilities.
ICT is about communication. Communication is about concepts like truth, honesty, integrity, clarity, brevity and accessibility. Or it can be about lies, misdirection, confusion and obfuscation, either accidentally (due to lack of knowledge/training/information) or intentionally (for reasons of personal, political or economic gain, etc).

ICT is also about technology. Understanding it, using, applying it to solve or mitigate problems. Knowing how to use software, how to choose appropriate software for a task, how to 'work' that software to get the result you desire whilst maximising efficiency by making best use of available resources (time, computers, energy, etc).
Students are taught the skills they will need to operate in a rapidly changing technological world. They are taught skills & techniques rather than specific software and focus on the values they should hold in regard to their work and their use of the internet.
ICT is taught within the classroom for classes 1 and 2. From class 3 to year 11 students are taught in the ICT Room, using a mobile cabinet of Apple MacBooks. The department is committed to the use of Open Source software, ensuring students can download free applications at home and put their learning into practice away from the classroom.
Upper School students work through a GCSE in Information Communication Technology syllabus which includes data handling, spreadsheets, presentations and popular media.
