14/1/2010 - Rock n Roll Christmas
If you'd have walked into Bradford Christian School hall on Thursday 17th December you'd have been forgiven for thinking you'd stepped back in time. The Thrive group took great effort to prepare a rock n rolling 1950s night for upper school students and staff complete with Ice Cream Sundaes, Hot Dogs and some of the finest 50s music from Chuck Berry to Little Richard.
Students and staff came arrayed in all forms of fancy dress with the most striking probably being the three senior staff members turning up dressed as teddy boys.
During the final dance disaster struck! The snow outside caused the transformer down the road to loosen a cable and blow it up, cutting all of the electricity in the street, including the school. Not to be outdone by the cold and dark, once again Mr Walker led the entire school of students in a rendition of the BCS classic, the hokey cokey, followed promptly by a conga around the corridors. See, BCS doesn't let the cold and wet get the better of its times of great fun and fellowship.
