14/1/2010 - Snow won't stop play
If you think the snow will stop BCS students from learning then think again. Icy conditions have prevented the school being open for two days this week as well as snow preventing opening for two last week also. But the show must go on.
Over the past year, several of the teachers have been developing ways of working online through new technologies such as Voicethread, YouTube and Dabbleboard. This week that work is being made available to upper school students who are unable to make it into school so that they can continue with the GCSE work. Students have access to a wide range of lessons online from Mr Kershaw's maths programme to Mr Archer's online learning centre FutureClass.
The technology available over the internet opens exciting opportunities for students to access their curriculum in new ways and will keep them learning despite without having to brave the treacherous conditions on our roads at this time.
