1/3/2010 - Year 9 visit CAP
Recently, Year 9 entered an in house competition to win a place on a trip to visit the international organisation Christians Against Poverty to see the work that Christians are doing with the poor and needy in Bradford and other places. The following is an account of the event written by Tim who was particularly impressed with the work they do.
C.A.P is a charity that help people who are in debt and teach them how to control there money and get them out of debt. C.A.P have also won many awards.
We started the day by going for a business type meal at Nandos and talked about skills that we have and how they can be put into practice. During the meal I started to realize how big C.A.P was and how much it has achieved and is still continuing to achieve. After the meal we headed back to C.A.P where we had a tour round the building and met some of the workers and there specific role in the charity. I also found there fund raising events incredible and would love to take place in some of them like the zip slide that goes from the top of a cliff to the bottom of it. After an hour or so we went back to John's office and headed back to school.
Going to C.A.P was a great experience for me and was all worth entering the competition.
