Religious Education

RE as subject begins in Middle School. During these years students have the opportunity to learn about God through the study of the Bible. They study the Old Testament seeking to gain an overall understanding of the history of the Jewish people. In Year 8 students look particularly at the Jewish faith and how it is practiced. They also study the New Testament and each year will study one of the gospels.

At GCSE there are two main branches of study: The Christian Life and St. Mark's Gospel and Christian Ethics. Students are encouraged to explore issues relating to Christian life and morality through study, reflection and debate. They have the opportunity to express and develop their own opinions as well as to consider the views and beliefs of others.
