New Student Application Process: Reception to Year 8*
New Student Application Process: Reception to Year 8*

Step 1 - Tour
Attend a pre-booked show-around of Bradford Christian School. It would be great if you could organise for your child to attend as well. This is a great opportunity to see specific departments and ask vital questions. We'll also need to ask you some questions about your child's school background.
*If you would like to book to view the school, have any questions or are looking for a place in Upper school (Y9-11), you can contact our office team on 01274 532649 / office@bxs.org.uk.
-
Step 2 - Application
Our Before you apply box at the top of this page will direct you to key information for you and your child(ren). Complete our online application form, please note there is a non-refundable application administration fee of £55 payable by card at the end of the application form.
When we've received your application form, relevant documentation and fee, we will start your application. By submitting an application form for your child, you are agreeing to us contacting your child's current school for information on their learning and behaviour. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
-
Step 3 - Interview
Once your application has been approved by the head of department, you and your child(ren) will be invited into BCS for an interview with the relevant member of our leadership team. This is an opportunity for us to find out more about you, and for you to ask any questions about our school.
-
Step 4 - Testing
Once your application has been approved by the head of department, your child(ren) will be invited into BCS to sit a Cognitive Ability test (CAT - Y4 - Y8). This test is not an entrance exam, however the results of these tests are helpful for us to better understand your child’s natural development and academic needs and we can determine if we can meet your child’s learning needs appropriately. A cognitive assessment will give a profile of an individual's strengths and difficulties in relation to their learning, as it can provide a snapshot of how they are doing at that time in a controlled way. CATs take up to a maximum of three hours to complete and you will need to let your current school know and ask them for a special release.
-
Step 5 - Experience
Our SLT, along with relevant teaching staff will access the results of the CAT. We aim to get back to you in no more than 7 days with the results and our decision. If we feel we can meet your child’s needs, we will invite them into BCS once more but this time for a 2-3 day taster session. Some school’s call this a trial but it’s a time for everyone to get accustomed to each other. You and your child will meet their potential teachers and class peers, join in with day to day learning subjects and enjoy playtimes, lunches and make new friends.
-
Step 6 - Decision
You are now required to attend a partnership meeting with the Head of Department and Senior Leadership Team where the admission decision is made. If your application is successful, we'll setup monthly school fee payments, receive the compulsory £500 bond (per child to secure place) + first months fees payment and sign our Partnership agreement along with some other forms.
If your child fails to start school within one term of the confirmed date, you will forfeit the bond and be required to pay this amount again. Your application will then need to be reconsidered by the Senior Leadership Team.
Should a place not be available, your child will be placed on a waiting list according to the Admissions Policy. You will then be contacted when a place for your child becomes available.
