Missed but not forgotten…
We are sad to announce that our much loved school secretary, Mrs Gill Moffatt, has sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Mr Matthew Walker spoke at her funeral with these words,
Gill’s working life actually began in nursing which is indicative of a caring and compassionate nature. She went on to work for Post Office Counters where she honed her administrative skills. She later managed the finances in her husband’s printing business before joining the school in the 1990s. Over the years her role and level of responsibility at Bradford Christian School gradually increased and she soon became an indispensable part of the team, overseeing the finances of an organisation with a substantial annual turnover in addition to the day-to-day running of a busy school office. Gill was so much more than an efficient bookkeeper and administrator: her caring nature was invariably evidenced in the concern she had for others and her support for those experiencing problems. She was especially kind and compassionate towards children who were in trouble or who had difficult lives.
Gill was a woman of simple faith. As a child she attended Great Horton Methodist Church which is where her and her husband, Dave, were eventually married. She later served as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader at St Luke’s Church in Eccleshill. Christian values of service, compassion, justice and endurance were very evident in Gill’s life and, like Jesus, she hated any form of religious hypocrisy or pretence.
It goes without saying she will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
