Year 7/8 history display - mounted by Mrs Wilson.
this is a culmination of the work they have been studying in History - looking at the changing perceptions of the First World War - 'The Long Shadow'.
Community connections
Year 7 boys were warmly welcomed to celebrate Eid with students at Eden Boys this week. They enjoyed sharing aspects of their lives and faith journeys with each other.
Forest Schools
On Wednesday Mr Kershaw took 5 Acorns into the Woods to plant information and ideas...
Evan, Kaya, Mackenzie, Lucas & Trystan looked closely at leaf shapes (elliptical, heart-shaped, round, lobed, compound), leaf margins (serrated, double-toothed, prickly or rounded lobes), leaf veins (pinnate or palmate) and texture (shiny, matt, furry/felty, ridged). They found sycamore, oak, rowan, 2 species of willow, cherry, ash, hawthorn and horse chestnut. They also found numerous plants including nettle, bramble, thistle, cow parsley, dock and buttercup.
Samples were brought back to the lab for further testing and analysis...

Deputy Headteacher's Message

Matt Walker
Deputy Headteacher, BCS
Headteacher's Message
Our Mission
To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.
Our Vision
To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
You will already be aware that Mr Walker is retiring in July.
James Stannett, our wonderful LSA, DT teacher and D of E lead, will be leaving us on 20th June. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and contributions to our students' learning, including leading D of E, supporting many children, being Mr Fixer, fundraiser and friend. Many of our school projects have been bought by his fundraising, including play equipment, computers, climbing wall, EYFS refurbishment and a 3D printer. We wish him all the best in his move to Northern Ireland, and also want to thank his wife Hannah, who has led parent prayers faithfully for such a long time.
Mrs Horton, who founded and led the autism provision, is also leaving, due to ongoing complex medical issues. She remains committed to our school, vision, mission and purpose, but is unable to work any longer, as she needs time to recover. Again, she has brought a great deal to school, being instrumental for a number of children and their families, and she will be missed.
We understand that changes in staff can raise questions, and we want to assure you that we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all our students. We have already assigned the staffing for next academic year, our timetable is written and we have recruited new people. Mrs Kershaw has been carrying Mrs Horton's load most of this academic year, and has a team of support around her.
Our priority remains providing a stable and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We are confident that we will continue to deliver the high-quality education and care you expect.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me
Thank you for your continued support.
