-
- Religious Liberty: For a victory that reinforces the freedom for families to educate children according to faith and conscience.
- The Most Vulnerable: That the burden on modest-income, SEND, and military families is recognized.

Subject: CST - Prayer points for the upcoming VAT Case
Dear Head teacher & NDT,
With the upcoming VAT case, Steve Beegoo has written some specific prayer points (see below) which he thought you would find helpful to use to pray into the situation. You can read more about the background to the case in this article https://christianconcern.com/news/schools-win-permission-to-appeal-governments-vat-policy/
- The VAT case appeal is scheduled to be heard in the Court of Appeal from Tuesday 20th to Wednesday 21st January 2026 at the Royal Courts of Justice, London.
- Pray that there would be strong victory for religious liberty and educational choice which would result in a reversal of the VAT imposition, reinforcing the freedom for families to educate children according to faith and conscience, and uphold the longstanding principle that education should not be taxed
- Pray that the appeal would highlight the burden this policy places on the most vulnerable - families on modest incomes, those with SEND children, and military families - helping preserve their right to choose a Christ-centred education.
- Give thanks for CST schools which provide a distinctively Christian education, and that God would protect these faithful school leaders and their schools from the threat of closure as a result of the VAT policy
- That there would be justice, and that the judges will be able to discern true implications and motivations of this policy
- Pray for excellent media coverage, particularly with the demonstration outside the court on the morning of Tuesday 20th, which would help facilitate a wider debate on the issues at stake

Headteacher's Message
Our Mission
To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.
Our Vision
To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Happy New Year! It has been a wonderful start to 2026, and it has been great to see the children return to school with such focus and renewed energy.
We began this week with a very productive Teacher Training day. Our entire staff team received specialist training on Autism, led by a highly experienced visiting Headteacher. This was a fantastic opportunity for us to upskill and refine our strategies, ensuring we continue to work effectively and inclusively to help every child thrive.
There is a great deal of purposeful activity across the school already:
- Year 11: Exam preparations are well underway. Mock Exams begin on Friday 6th February and will be held under formal GCSE conditions.
- Years 9 & 10: Planning is in full swing for the upcoming Barcelona trip!
We are conscious of how busy family life can be, so we are making a concerted effort to keep our communication streamlined. To avoid a "bombardment" of separate emails, we will be consolidating notices into this Weekly Newsflash. Please make it a priority to read this thoroughly each week.
As we look to the term ahead, I am reminded of the promise in Philippians 4:13:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Whether our students are preparing for exams, embarking on new trips, or simply growing in their daily learning, we pray they feel that strength and encouragement every day.
