Summer 2022 Newsletter

That’s a wrap!

Thankfulness. This virtue has been on everyone’s hearts recently. Thankful for what has been a fantastic year for BCS. Thankful for the continued support of our parents and families. Thankful for our faithful regular givers. Thankful for our amazing staff team who are selfless time and again to make sure school functions at the highest possible level, covering lessons, writing reports, planning events, preparing students so well for exams as well as sharing their stories and testimonies with each other every Wednesday and so much more. Thankful to our students for all their hard work and effort both in their studies and extra curricular activities such as residentials and Duke of Edinburgh as well as helping keep our community safe by wearing masks when asked to and helping each other when it counts. Thankful to our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for making Professional Development (PD) days so inspiring and effective. Thankful to the Student Support Team (SST) who have been tireless in their support of our young people with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) as well as those mainstream students who get extra care when they need it most. Thankful that the Bar Mitzvah course has returned for our year 8’s. It is a pleasure to offer a course that helps students discover themselves and present their passions, hopes and dreams to their peers and families. Thankful for the investment and maintenance we have been able to put into our school building. From toys and laptops to new lights in to windows in classrooms, we’re looking ahead to increase our effective provision to our students.

We are thankful to you, one for reading this newsletter, but secondly for buying into our mission and vision as a community. This was abundantly evident at our recent celebration evening at St Cuthberts Church in Wrose where we saw a range of presentations and awards from and for our students to which shouts and clapping of applause from parents and careers were joyously given. Our community feels like a community. Our community feels united. From students and staff to volunteers and families, there is a sense of understanding of why Bradford Christian School exists. Our Mission and Vision feels embedded into our culture and people are not only saying it, they’re doing it.

The last week of term has seen all sorts of activities…cancelled due to the heat! We mean…enjoyed by staff and students. From Media Museum trips to WATER FIGHTS in the playground to cool off, it has been a fantastic week to end the year well.

The apostle Paul wrote to the Romans:

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Romans 5:1-11

In everything we are thankful to God for his endless provision and guidance in our school. He demonstrates his love to us everyday and will continue his work to bring children up in the love of the Lord with your help and support.

As if we haven’t said it enough, thank you. See you in September!
