As the weather warms up, here's a quick reminder of our uniform and make-up policies:
Uniform Policy:
- Full summer school uniform must be worn at all times, including PE uniform on PE days
- Pupils may wear summer uniform (polo shirts, summer dresses for girls)
- Trainers should be black
- Non-uniform items should not be worn to school
- All uniform items should be clearly labelled with your child's name
- For Year 11: They can wear their own clothes, but Friday rules still apply regarding make-up and jewellery
Make-Up Policy:
- Make-up, including nail polish, is not permitted for any pupils in middle school
- This includes subtle or "natural" make-up
- False eyelashes and nail extensions are not permitted
- Staff will ask middle school pupils to remove make-up if worn to school
- In upper school, only subtle make-up is allowed
Why these policies matter:
- They create a sense of community and belonging
- They remove distractions from learning
- They reflect our values of modesty and simplicity
- They ensure all pupils can participate fully in all activities
If you have any questions about our uniform or make-up policies, or if there are financial barriers to purchasing uniform items, please contact the school office in confidence.
Please remember that the school playground is not open until a teacher is on duty.
- Supervision begins: Between 8:40 am and 8:45 am. If children need to arrive earlier than this please book them into breakfast club with Mrs Virgo - it opens at 7:55am and costs £3.00 a day.
- Important: Please do not leave children unattended on the playground before this point. Staff are in essential meetings inside the building until duty begins.

🎓 Year 11 Leavers - Saying Goodbye
As we move into the final weeks of the academic year, we're preparing to say goodbye to our wonderful Year 11 students who'll be leaving us after their GCSE examinations.
Celebrating Our Year 11s
This year group has been exceptional. We've watched them grow from young teenagers into semi mature young adults who:
- Lead prayer groups and recognise the challenges and growth this brings
- Started their own Bible studies, continuing even at home, showing real ownership of their spiritual development
- Support each other excellently and welcomed new students so warmly, helping them settle in
- Build great relationships with very few behaviour incidents
- Show better collaboration with few examples of relationship breakdown
- Demonstrate the servant leadership we hope to see in all our students
Many of our Year 11 students have been baptised this year, which is such a powerful testimony to the deepening faith and spiritual maturity of this group.
Year 11 Leavers' Assembly
We celebrated our Year 11 leavers with a special Leavers' Assembly today when they shared their reflections and memories, and the whole school celebrated their time at BCS.
We hope they will take a leadership role in our celebration evening in 9th July, at Sunbridge Road Church
A Message to Our Year 11s
To our Year 11 students: you've been such a blessing to Bradford Christian School. You've lived out our vision of "Growing Lives That Bear Fruit" in remarkable ways. As you move on to the next chapter - whether that's sixth form, college, apprenticeships, or employment - you take with you not just academic qualifications, but the character, faith, understanding, wisdom and knowledge that will serve you throughout your lives.
We're so proud of you and will continue to pray for you as you step into your God-given purposes. You'll always be part of the BCS family, and we look forward to hearing about all that God does in and through your lives.
Alumni Programme: We hope many of you will return to BCS as part of our alumni programme - leading assemblies, mentoring younger students, and sharing your experiences. Several of our current staff members are former BCS pupils, and we'd love to see some of you return in the future!
A Message to Year 11 Parents
Thank you for entrusting your children to us during these formative years. It's been a privilege to walk alongside you in their education and spiritual development. We pray that the foundations laid at BCS will continue to bear fruit in their lives for many years to come.

Headteacher's Message
Our Mission
To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.
Our Vision
To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Dear BCS Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend last week. Here's what's happening at Bradford Christian School this week.
🎉 PD Day Celebrations - Tuesday 6th May
This Tuesday was a Professional Development (PD) Day for staff, when we had two streams running simultaneously.
Support Staff Training
Our support staff had training from an external provider about managing anxiety in a Christian way. This equips our team to better support pupils experiencing anxiety and emotional regulation challenges, using approaches that align with our Christian values and ethos.
Teaching Staff Celebrations
Our teaching staff took time to celebrate Our Achievements 2025-26, including:
- Outstanding spiritual development across all phases - from Reception children praying for each other to Year 11 students leading their own Bible studies
- IQM Centre of Excellence status achieved in 2024, recognising our exceptional SEND provision
- Exceptional teaching quality evidenced by external validation and parent feedback
- New curriculum developments including our Geography curriculum and improved Science provision
Professional Development Focus
Our staff are working on:
- Refining our coaching model to continue improving teaching quality
- Developing our curriculum leadership across subjects
- Planning for our behaviour non-negotiables to ensure consistency across all classes
- Reviewing our systematic approach to tracking pupil outcomes
I'm incredibly grateful for our dedicated staff team who continue to invest in their professional development to serve your children better.
