Headteacher's Message
Our Mission
To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.
Our Vision
To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
This week I want to share with you our school's commitment to faith-integrated learning. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where academic excellence and spiritual growth go hand-in-hand, helping each student to thrive both intellectually and personally.
Faith-integrated learning is not about adding religious instruction as a separate subject. Instead, it’s about weaving our core values and faith principles into every aspect of the curriculum. This means that in a science class, for example, students might explore the wonders of the universe as a reflection of creation. In a history lesson, they could analyze historical events through the lens of moral and ethical considerations. In literature, they might discuss themes of compassion, justice, and redemption. This approach helps students see the interconnectedness of all knowledge and apply their faith to real-world situations.
Our teachers play a crucial role in this process. We expect them to facilitate discussions and guide students in making connections between their academic subjects and their personal beliefs. We believe this helps our students develop a strong moral compass, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
We are confident that this model provides a well-rounded and meaningful learning experience. It prepares our students not only for academic success but also to become compassionate, thoughtful, and engaged members of our community. This is borne out as they move onto their next steps.
It has been a joy walking around school this week and seeing this played out in different classes. I have seen students from 3 to 16 being given opportunities to worship, and think deeply about faith. We realise that not everyone shares the same Christian faith, but this is something that is woven into our lives at BCS.
