    Community Effect

Some of our students went litter picking around Bolton Woods this week with tools provided by the local council.

Cristina says: On Wednesday, the student council collectively went litter picking in our immediate community. Our aim was to give back to the Bolton Woods community that Bradford Christian School forms part of. We set out with tools from Bradford council and began our task. Not only from people intentionally littering, but from bad weather tossing rubbish around, litter filled the streets we walked down. As we began to clear the rubbish away, it was clear that this was more than tidying the area around our school - as a student it was immensely satisfying to be able to physically help and see a difference due to our actions.

Isaac says: On Wednesday, I joined others from my school in a litter-picking effort around the local area. Our goal was to positively impact the community surrounding Bradford Christian School. Armed with equipment provided by the council, we collected rubbish scattered along the streets, much of which had accumulated due to weather or careless disposal. As we worked together, it became evident that this was more than just cleaning up—it was a chance to actively contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment. Seeing the immediate difference we made was deeply rewarding, benefiting the community and fostering pride in our school’s role in the area.

    Middle School Walking Nativity

Thank you to everyone who parcicipated in our Walking Nativity! It was a fantastic afternoon walking the story of Jesus birth!

Mr Walker said - I was only there for a short time but, as I made my way back to school, some of the residents of Bolton Hall Road
asked me what was going on so I explained that it was a 'walking nativity'. Their reaction was overwhelmingly positive
which shows that an event like this can be positive PR for the school in the area (along with the litter picking !)
as well as being a demonstration that we can give a positive witneses for Christ in Bolton Woods.
Well done to Mrs Taylor and the team.

    Christmas Poem by Manuella

    Christmas Day,
    How it brings such joy!
As children run down the stairs,
    With shouts of exclamations.

    The carolers making their proclamation,
Oh, how Christmas is here once again.
With families eyeing food, as they rapidly filled their plates high,
Christmas was here, no doubt in the sky.

As children lay by the fireplace,
    Their hearts aglow
    As the excitement of Christmas
    Was slowly fading

As the last of snow fell towards the ground,
    The eager faces were wavering,
Savouring the last of Christmas Day

As carolers drifted away from doors
    And street lamps turned off,
    Eager children’s expressions turned dull.

It was the end of Christmas,
    Once and for all

    So take heed this Christmas,
As we remember the festive season
And take time to care for loved ones
    Throughout said snowy season
And this is the reason to love Christmas.

    Headteacher's Message

    Our Mission

To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.

    Our Vision

To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

As we come to the end of a long term, it is a good time to reflect on the past 14 weeks and be grateful.

You will be aware that Mrs Horton has missed the majority of term with health issues, and Mrs Kershaw has stepped into her role leading in the AP, supported by Mrs Garratt and the team. We are grateful for her willingness to do this on top of her demanding role in school, and her graciousness in doing the extras.

Our new leadership team has really stepped up, supported by our pastoral team. Mrs Taylor, Mrs Garcia and Mrs March are looking after students really well, including meeting with parents, checking in on students, and having innovative ideas.

Assemblies have really stepped up, with a number of visiting speakers and great topics. This week an ex student, Luke Dale, talked to upper school about how precious they are to God. He was incredibly engaging. We also work with Rev Mariane from St James Church, and have had a visit from the Dean of Bradford Cathedral.

We are working well with the local community, mainly led by Mrs Taylor and Mr Stannett, and have used their new centre a lot. This week saw the Nativity acted out by members of school community and church.

Mrs Walker continues her counselling role, taking a lead on student well being. She has started a new student council who are forthcoming with ideas, and have seen many implemented. This week they went on an area litter pick. You may have received positive emails from her about your children, part of our new positive behaviour action.

We have staff coaching groups, supporting each other in staff development, sharing pockets of excellence.

Our Monday staff prayer meetings are well attended and we see so many prayers answered. Most people make it most of the time.

We have a residential to Berlin next week, and Mr Walker will take 20 students and three former students who now work as part of our staff.

Our enrolment numbers are up, with waiting list places only for most classes above year 5. We do have space in primary, though year 4 is almost full.

I am grateful, and ready to have a holiday soon! I think the children are too.

Thanks for your support this term
