Exciting Staff News!
Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a lovely Easter break!
I wanted to share some brilliant news about our staff team as we begin this new term.
Welcome Back and Welcome! 👋
We're thrilled to have Mrs Hoskins back with us after her maternity leave - it's wonderful to have her back in school! She is in school three days a week, back on the leadership team, and very welcome.
We're also delighted to welcome Mrs Ferreira Morfin to BCS. What makes this extra special is that Mrs Ferreira Morfin is actually another former BCS student! She's been teaching at Dixons Academy for the past four years and we're so pleased to welcome her home to Bradford Christian School.
Baby News! 🎉
Mrs Bullen has shared the lovely news that she's expecting a baby in the autumn - and we're all absolutely delighted for her and her family!
God's Perfect Timing 🌟
Here's where it gets really amazing... We've just appointed Miss Stewart as our new maths teacher, and honestly, we can only describe this as God's perfect timing!
Miss Stewart is currently on the leadership team at Kathmandu International Study Centre (KISC) in Nepal and brings years of teaching experience, wisdom, and a strong Christian faith. When we interviewed her - literally just after hearing Mrs Bullen's news - she told us her best subjects are maths, music, languages, and leading worship. We noticed how once again, God has provided exactly what we need, exactly when we need it!
Miss Stewart will be joining us in the last two weeks of summer term, and we can't wait to introduce her to you all.
Here's a revised version with adjusted personal relationship details:
Miss Peckover
We wanted to let you know that Miss Peckover has had surgery this week and will be out of action for the remainder of this half term. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming her back soon.
Art lesson arrangements:
To ensure our students continue to receive excellent Art education during Miss Peckover's absence, we have put the following arrangements in place:
Mrs Ferreira Morfin will be covering some of Miss Peckover's Art lessons and will provide GCSE Art students with additional support during form times
Mrs Lawrence, a specialist artist, will provide online support during students' usual Art lessons. Mrs Lawrence has worked in secondary schools since completing her Master's degree in Fine Art and brings valuable expertise to help our GCSE students complete their work to the highest standard
We are confident these arrangements will ensure our students continue to make excellent progress in their Art studies.
Parents' evenings are taking place next week - we're looking forward to catching up with you all.
Relationships and Sex Education questionnaire - Later next week, we'll be sharing some information and a questionnaire about our Relationships and Sex Education provision. We're reviewing our policy to ensure it's in line with the new statutory guidance for 2026, and we want to hear your views as part of this process.
We will make time for you to view the curriculum materials we plan to use for Relationships and Sex Education, so please do look out for that.
As always, if you have any questions, just get in touch.
God bless,
