    👩🏽‍🦰 New Teacher Introductions 🧔🏽

My name is Mrs. Travis and I am so excited to be joining Bradford Christian School as the new Year 1 and Year 2 teacher. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself properly. My family and I have recently moved back to the Bradford area, having spent the last 12 years living in Bahrain. We are so happy to be back in the UK and are looking forward to exploring everything Bradford has to offer. I am married to my husband, James, and we have two wonderful sons, Roman (age 10) and Jesse (age 8).

For the past 12 years, I have been teaching at a British curriculum international school in Bahrain, where I have had the privilege of working with children from a huge variety of cultures and backgrounds. This has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I have loved seeing my students learn and grow. In my free time, I love to read, go for a hike, and travel to new places. I believe that learning should be fun and engaging, and I am committed to creating a classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.

I feel so blessed to have found a school like Bradford Christian School. It has been a long-held dream of mine to work in a school where Jesus is at the centre of our education, and I am so excited to be a part of this special community. I look forward to getting to know all of you and working together to help our students flourish, not just academically, but in their faith as well.

    Mrs Travis

    Headteacher's Message

    Our Mission

To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.

    Our Vision

To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

This week I received an email from one of our longstanding members of staff, Mrs Edwards. I was so encouraged by her words, and thought I would summarise it for you all.

This was in  Mrs Edwards’ words

We're all feeling the squeeze at the moment. At times it feels like we’re being properly stomped on from all sides. But you know what happens when you stomp on grapes? You get wine.

We have got something in buckets that the big schools can only dream of. We might be a teeny-weeny school, but we are absolutely massive in spirit, in how we pull together, and in our faith.

I remember the week  when we first moved in here.  The office was the old toilets, the staff room was dark and dingy, the whole place was a wreck. But the kids who came with us absolutely loved it! They used to tell me stories about using each other's backs as a table in the old building.

I remember ‘that science lesson’. The one about Joshua, and how on earth you’d get everyone to march around a city and blow a trumpet at the exact same time without someone needing the loo or falling asleep. And then, right at that moment, we heard a trumpet… it was Mr Wells, up on the scaffolding in the hall, playing his heart out.

Everyone had goosebumps. And that is who we are. We’re the people who make trumpets sound from the heavens when everyone else just sees a leaky roof.

God’s got his own timing, and while we wait for him to move, this whole thing is just making us a tighter, stronger team.

Our students are becoming amazing adults who will stand through any trouble life throws at them.

We mean business, and we're standing strong, together.
