    Year 9/10 Duke of Edinburgh

A huge well done to our Year 9 and 10 DofE students who completed a practice expedition in Skipton this Thursday! Starting at the Devonshire Arms, the group hiked past Cracoe War Memorial and stopped for lunch at Rylstone Cross. They couldn't have asked for better weather, and they tackled the challenging walk—heavy bags and all—with fantastic energy and smiles.

    Headteacher's Message

    Our Mission

To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.

    Our Vision

To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

    Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful week it has been! Thank you so much for attending our parent evenings – it was very special to see so many of you and to share your children's progress and achievements with you. Your engagement with your child's education makes such a difference, and we're grateful for the time you took to meet with our staff.

This week has reminded me of what makes Bradford Christian School so special: our strong sense of community, our commitment to every child, and our shared vision of growing lives that bear fruit. As we look ahead to the exciting weeks and months to come, I wanted to share some highlights and updates with you.

Our students continue to amaze us. From our Year 9 and 10 Duke of Edinburgh participants completing their practice expedition, to our talented Matilda cast preparing for their performances, to some of our younger learners leading assembly on Tuesday  – there's so much wonderful learning happening across our school. We're also thrilled to be launching Outdoor activities with a forest school practitioner, giving our children rich, hands-on experiences in nature.

We're investing in our facilities. This summer, we're creating a new learning space for our primary students and working with our Year 9 and 10 Create class to design sensory spaces around school. These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing the very best learning environment for your children.

We're listening to you. Your feedback at parent evenings was invaluable. While we heard many positive comments (which truly encouraged us!), we also received helpful suggestions about presentation standards, the appearance of our school and our lunches. We take this feedback seriously and are already working on improvements across the school. Your partnership in your child's education is important to us.

We need your help. While our Nursery and Reception classes are growing wonderfully, we'd love to welcome more families to our primary and secondary phases. If you know families who might benefit from our Christian ethos, dedicated staff, small class sizes, and supportive community, please do encourage them to visit us. Your recommendations carry real weight – families trust the experiences of other families.

As we move towards the summer term, I'm excited about all that lies ahead: our Matilda performances, our continued focus on raising standards, and our plans for September. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we're creating something truly special for our children.

    With warm regards and gratitude,

    J.Prothero
