Headteacher's Message

Our Mission

To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.

Our Vision

To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

I have already written to you all about the statutory government tax, at 20 percent of fees.

You should all be aware that we have worked hard to absorb this until August, recognising that our staff salaries and our building programme are the places where the main compromises are being made.

There are two Bible verses that stare at me from my walls as I work,

Psalm 61 v 2

From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;
    lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psalm 100 v4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

    and his courts with praise;

    give thanks to him and praise his name.

We are reminded, as believers, to be thankful and to take our concerns to a loving Father who understands. As we pray, God moves. Already we have a waiting list for places across school, and a number of trials arranged. We have new children joining us each term, our nursery is almost full and our middle and upper school classes are a healthy size. However, I am aware that there are also concerns in our community about affording an increase, and how it might impact families.

We do need to be a praying community, coming together with a common purpose and prayer. I  have allocated the weekend of 7 to 9th February as a weekend of prayer for our whole community. You can pray wherever you are, at home, work, or whilst out and about. Can you commit to praying for the future of BCS? I have shared some resources for those who find praying difficult. There are seven ways to pray - you could adopt one each day of the week and keep the prayer going.

Prayer for our Schools – our bookmark prayer

If you would like copies of our bookmarks email england@prayforschools.org

Loving Father, Thank you

for all who are part of our school.  Please grant them your encouragement, wisdom and peace.

Strengthen teachers

who have heavy workloads. May they be firm, yet patient, expecting excellence but forgiving mistakes.

May they support their students, playing to strengths, helping with struggles and motivating them to do their best.

Comfort and restore

those living under shadows of unhappiness, abuse, pain or fear.  May many find faith discovering their identity in You and knowing Your amazing grace in their lives.

Please pour out Your blessings

upon our whole school community.

In Jesus name.

Amen

I am also attaching a book - a reminder of the value of Christian education
