    Deputy Headteacher's Message

    Dear Parents
Some of you may already be aware that, after working at the school for 31 years, this will be my final year at BCS. I will, therefore, be leaving the school permanently in July 2025.
I will be the last of the original founding group to leave. It is really good to be able to do so knowing that the school, despite current challenges, is in a good place. It is also great to see a younger, committed staff team who will take up the baton of Christian Education in Bradford and make it relevant for the current generation.
It has been a privilege and a blessing to have had the opportunity to contribute to such a unique place but I am confident that, under Jane Prothero's leadership, the school can continue to prosper and to do good work in the Kingdom of God.
    Wishing you all every blessing,

    Headteacher's Message

    Our Mission

To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.

    Our Vision

To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

I work with the most amazing team of people, with a variety of skills and experience.  I would just like to share some highlights of my week.
As I watched PE/ D of E training on Thursday children relayed across the playground to set up a trangia - it was like something from a quiz show. There was laughter, fun, and purpose for your upper school students, as they enjoyed the outdoors, working in teams. They are well prepared for their expedition when they will walk, carrying tents, cooking equipment, food and clothes. I am grateful to Mr Stannett and Mrs Ryan for their work  and for training Mr Kwon who will take it on.
I also enjoyed seeing staff sharing with parents at the open day. It's a privilege to hand over to a team who I am confident will be honest and enthusiastic about their school. Mr McGrail spent a lot of time and energy making sure the event went well, and a team of parents helped serve and entertain. Our year 9 and 10 students showed people around school. They were amazing.
Mrs Taylor worked hard with her team of Shakespeare ambassadors to prepare a Shakespeare focus, with a special meal in a decorated hall, as well as events throughout school.  Our students are developing great leadership skills.
The final lovely observation I made was middle school topic, where year 5 were making a fine job of baking banana muffins. Children from our AP joined in confidently, and there was real joy.
This is a normal week - and I want to celebrate the BCS community, where character development is so important. Your children are known, loved, accepted and challenged.
I am reminded of the body - and the fact that God really did put all the parts of the body just where he wanted them to be.
1 Corinthians 12  18 God has placed each part in the body just as he wanted it to be. 19 If all the parts were the same, how could there be a body? 20 As it is, there are many parts. But there is only one body.
