The Week Ahead Weekly Updates and Communication for Parents

I hope you have all had some rest this holiday, and have enjoyed family time however that looked.

Amidst all the celebrations, family time, gatherings, winter walks and long drives, I have had two highlights.

During the Christmas Eve service this year, it hit me once again that the birth of Jesus was not plan B, and was always meant to happen right from the beginning. Without his birth, the rest of the story could not occur. This is not new, but each year is a time to really engage with this miracle.

The second highlight has been having my adult children at home for almost two weeks, and the conversations reminding Mark and I of the value of Christian education in shaping their world view.  They recognise the sacrifices we made during their time growing up in Cambodia, and have expressed their gratitude for investing in their education, in Christian teachers,  who have been part of their story . Both are at different points on a faith journey - one living out her faith daily, the other working out what it all means for him, but still open and talking about God.

As a team, we are looking forward to welcoming your children back to school on Tuesday.  It will be timetables as normal, lunch orders as normal.
