Headteacher's Message
Our Mission
To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.
Our Vision
To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Dear Parents,
As we move further into this term, we find ourselves in a season of both reflection and exciting milestones. It is a privilege to share these updates with you as we continue to support one another in faith and community.
Lifting Up Our Staff
Our thoughts and prayers are currently focused on Mrs. Machaela Hutcheson, who has begun cancer treatment once again following a long period of remission. We are standing with her and her family during this challenging time, praying for strength, healing, and peace.
We also ask for your continued prayers for our wider staff team, as we have navigated some significant recent illnesses within the group. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication to your children, even when facing personal and health challenges.
The Journey for Year 11
Our Year 11 students have just reached a significant milestone, having completed their mock exams. They are now in the "final countdown" toward their GCSEs and the exciting transition to their next steps.
- Dales Residential: This week, they spent two days in the Dales for a special residential trip. It was a vital time for them to reflect, bond, and prepare for the transition beyond BCS.
- The Final Stretch: Please join us in praying for them as they complete their time at school, that they would remain focused, encouraged, and confident in their God-given potential. They leave in May and will only return for exams.
School Growth & Community Support
We are currently looking toward the future of our school family. At a time when birth rates are dropping nationally and many schools are seeing smaller classes, particularly in Primary, we are praying for the right enrolments. We would love to see the right families join us who will thrive in our unique Christian environment and help our community grow. Our nursery education is free for 3 year olds, please spread the word if you know people who would value a Christian nursery, even if they don’t plan to stay for Reception.
On a personal note, we want to say thank you for your encouragement this week. We understand that fee increases are never easy news to receive, and your continued support and graciousness despite these changes mean a great deal to the leadership and the governors. Thanks for the emails and encouragement at a challenging time.
School Updates & Performances
- Middle School Performance: It is a joy to see our Middle School students shining! They will soon be performing Matilda (RSC version) at the Guiseley Theatre. Their hard work and creativity are a testament to the vibrant spirit of our school.
- Uniform Survey: Looking ahead to next week, we will be sharing a Uniform Survey with all parents. We value your input and look forward to hearing your thoughts as we review our current requirements.
A Closing Encouragement
As we navigate this busy season of exams, performances, and health challenges, we take comfort in the promise found in Isaiah 40:31:
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Thank you for your continued partnership, your prayers, and for being such a vital part of the BCS family.
