Easter activities!
Year 1 and 2 made some easter buns in English. Making sure they followed the instructions. Lots of fun had! EYFS have been very busy making Easter cards for there parents.
Some of the Year 9 and 10 students lead Primary devotions this year to talk about Easter and what it means for them. Well done to those students for their hard work preparing and stepping out their comfort zones to lead the younger students. Year 9/10 also made Easter themed cakes.
We rounded the morning off with a whole school assembly led by Sunbridge Road Mission youth pastor, Lukas Coelho
Year 10 in Oak Class visit to Bradford College.
The students of Oak Class were taken on a tour of Bradford College's SEN provision and discussed available courses.
Maths Challenge
A huge congratulations to Zachary Thomas (Year 6) who not only got gold in the Primary Maths Challenge but also competed in the bonus round and achieved gold in that! This is the best result he could have achieved so congratulations on your outstanding performance Zachary
Upper School Assembly guest speaker
A huge thank you to Chris Baxfield for coming to the Upper School Assembly on Wednesday. He reminded us so powerfully from John 8 that Jesus Christ wants to rescue us from our sin and bring us into a new life with Him—just as He did with the woman caught in adultery. What a beautiful way to start Wednesday; we were truly blessed.

Christian Education at Its Best – Celebrating Faith in Action at Bradford Christian School
Dear Parents and Carers,
I'm writing to share something that has filled me with joy and gratitude this week. During recent learning walks across our school, I witnessed Christian education at its absolute best – and I wanted you to know what your children are experiencing every day.
Faith Woven Into Every Lesson
What struck me most powerfully was how our teachers can seamlessly weave faith into their teaching. This isn't Christianity as an add-on or an afterthought – this is distinctive Christian education where Biblical truth illuminates every subject and shapes how our children see the world.
Our Youngest Learners: Faith You Can Touch
In EYFS, I watched as all our youngest children retold the Easter story with confidence, even using the word "betray" appropriately. But they weren't just reciting facts – they were experiencing the story. They washed each other's hands like Jesus washed the disciples' feet, shared a snack together like the Passover meal, and then went outside to pray. This is age-appropriate theology that connects Passover to communion in a way young children can understand, delivered through hands-on, memorable activities. Your children aren't just learning about faith – they're living it.
Building Biblical Literacy That Lasts
In Year 9/10, students explored revelation and Saul of Tarsus with a teacher whose love of the Bible was obvious and infectious. Students demonstrated excellent Biblical knowledge, could give examples showing their prior learning has been effective, and were clearly loving their lessons.
The teacher used brilliant strategies like "write first, then be told so it sticks" – explaining why she was doing this, making the learning process explicit. When I spoke to students, they could articulate what they were learning about different types of revelation, explain the significance of Saul of Tarsus's conversion, and make connections between Biblical teaching and their own lives.
Faith That Shapes How We Treat Others
In Year 7/8 PSHE, I witnessed outstanding Biblical integration as students explored Protected Characteristics and hate crime through the lens of the Sheep and Goats parable. The teacher powerfully connected Jesus's words "you did it for me" to how we treat others, reading directly from the Bible about the Kingdom of God, looking after each other and being kind. This seamlessly wove together British Values, Protected Characteristics, and Christian ethos. Our children are learning that faith isn't separate from how we live – it's the foundation for treating every person with dignity and respect.
Why This Matters
Across every year group, faith is woven seamlessly into lessons – this is distinctive Christian education at its best. Your children are:
- Developing deep Biblical knowledge – from EYFS children who can retell the Easter story to secondary students who can explain complex theological concepts
- Experiencing faith, not just learning about it – through prayer, servant leadership, sharing meals, and practical application of Biblical principles
- Understanding that faith shapes everything – how we treat others, how we see the world, how we make decisions
- Being taught by teachers who love the Bible – whose passion for God's Word is contagious and creates lessons that are both rigorous and joyful
The Impact on Your Child
Our children are building Biblical knowledge from their earliest years, experiencing faith practically, developing impressive religious vocabulary, and understanding Christian practices like communion, prayer, and servant leadership.
This is distinctive Christian education at its very best – learning that is rigorous, Biblical, and genuinely exciting, with students engaged, challenged, and clearly loving it.
Our Foundation
This is the foundation we want for all our pupils – starting their journey with strong Biblical knowledge, experiential faith, and love of learning about God. EWhat a joy to see your children grow in their understanding of God's love and their place in His story.
As we continue through this term and approach Easter, I'm profoundly grateful for the privilege of partnering with you in your child's spiritual formation. What I witnessed this week reminded me why we do what we do – we're not just educating minds, we're sharing our faith with your children.
Together, we are "growing lives that bear fruit."
With gratitude and joy as we end the term.
