Car Parking
The safety of our pupils is our absolute priority. We have noticed an increase in cars parking on pavements and near junctions, which significantly reduces visibility for children crossing the road.
Please remember:
-
Do not block driveways: Even for a "quick drop-off," this causes significant frustration for our neighbors.
-
Keep pavements clear: Pedestrians should not be forced into the road to get around parked vehicles.
We understand that parking near the school is limited, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping the area safe and stress-free for our children and our neighbors alike.
Please also help us maintain good relationships with our neighbours by responding with Grace and Humilty if approached with regard to your parking. Try not to get involved in arguments are "this for that" altercations.
We are activley encouraging our neighbours to seek police and community advice to which they have full right to do so. However, we can play our part in helping keep on-street parking free by mainting good relationships with our neighbours.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Uniform
As the weather warms up, here's a quick reminder of our uniform and make-up policies:
Uniform Policy:
- Full summer school uniform must be worn at all times, including PE uniform on PE days
- Pupils may wear summer uniform (polo shirts, summer dresses for girls)
- Trainers should be black
- Non-uniform items should not be worn to school
- All uniform items should be clearly labelled with your child's name
- For Year 11: They can wear their own clothes, but Friday rules still apply regarding make-up and jewellery
Make-Up Policy:
- Make-up, including nail polish, is not permitted for any pupils in middle school
- This includes subtle or "natural" make-up
- False eyelashes and nail extensions are not permitted
- Staff will ask middle school pupils to remove make-up if worn to school
- In upper school, only subtle make-up is allowed
Why these policies matter:
- They create a sense of community and belonging
- They remove distractions from learning
- They reflect our values of modesty and simplicity
- They ensure all pupils can participate fully in all activities
If you have any questions about our uniform or make-up policies, or if there are financial barriers to purchasing uniform items, please contact the school office in confidence.
Morning Drop-Off & Playground Safety
Please remember that the school playground is not open until a teacher is on duty.
- Supervision begins: Between 8:40 am and 8:45 am. If children need to arrive earlier than this please book them into breakfast club with Mrs Virgo - it opens at 7:55am and costs £3.00 a day.
- Important: Please do not leave children unattended on the playground before this point. Staff are in essential meetings inside the building until duty begins.

📰 Headteacher's Message
Our Mission
To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.
Our Vision
To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Celebrating Our Staff Development Journey This Year
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are absolutely delighted to share with you the incredible professional development achievements of our staff this year – and we want to shout it from the rooftops!
Our Vision in Action
At Bradford Christian School, our mission is to provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship. Our vision is to be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
This vision is rooted in Scripture:
'That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.' (Psalm 1:3)
'Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.' (Luke 2:52)
At the start of this academic year, after much prayer for our staff, we heard very clearly: 'use what we have and develop them'. In response, we employed Dr Garrie John Barnes, who is also the CEO of Christian Schools Trust, to head up our staff development programme. This decision has transformed our school, and we are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding progress our team has made.

Support Staff Professional Development
- Charlotte Lofthouse, Charlene Curtis, and Michaela Edwards have started Level 3 qualifications this year
We are also incredibly grateful to our team of Christian coaches and mentors, as well as others who have generously given their time and expertise to support our staff throughout their development journeys. Their guidance, encouragement and wisdom have been instrumental in helping our team achieve these remarkable milestones.
These highlighted achievements represent some of the most significant milestones, but they tell only part of the story. Many other members of our staff have also engaged in professional development throughout the year and are logging their learning and growth. These special cases showcase our staff's extraordinary commitment to learning and bettering themselves, all whilst working full-time jobs. Their dedication is inspirational.
This investment in our staff directly benefits your children and reflects our commitment to providing a holistic Christian education. Our curriculum reflects our vision, and through passionate and dedicated staff, we develop each child's whole character alongside their academic learning.
Our teachers and support staff are:
- Deepening their subject knowledge and teaching skills
- Strengthening their understanding of Christian education principles and developing critical thinking within a Christian worldview
- Gaining formal qualifications that recognise their excellence
- Building a culture of continuous professional development that permeates every aspect of school life
- Modelling lifelong learning – demonstrating to pupils what it means to grow in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom
We believe that investing in our staff is investing in your children's future. By developing the talented team we already have, we are creating a school where we can meet our vision and mission:
Faith in Christ
Through sound biblical knowledge and a belief in the power of prayer, our staff provide discipleship opportunities for students to apply the Word of God to their lives, laying a solid foundation for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Everyone is committed to a lifestyle of lovingly serving others.
Christian Education
Our increasingly qualified and skilled staff deliver a holistic Christian education, developing each child's whole character alongside their academic learning. BCS students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to be independent learners, taking ownership of their learning experience.
Christian Community
Through partnership with parents, churches and the wider community, all BCS students are loved, valued and respected by highly trained staff. Each child is accepted, nurtured, challenged and encouraged. They are inspired to discover and develop their unique God-given abilities as they grow in confidence to see themselves the way Christ sees them.
What makes these achievements even more remarkable is that our staff have pursued these qualifications and courses alongside their full-time teaching and support roles. They have sacrificed evenings, weekends, and holidays to better themselves professionally – all so they can provide the very best education for your children. This level of commitment speaks volumes about the calibre of people working at Bradford Christian School.
We are incredibly proud of every member of staff who has dedicated themselves to professional growth this year. Their commitment to excellence, combined with our Christian foundation, ensures that Bradford Christian School continues to provide the very best education for your children – equipping them to grow in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Thank you for your continued support as we celebrate these wonderful achievements together.
With warmest regards and in celebration,
