Sports Day Moustaches

Y6 have been working on a Bakery Project this half term. They have researched ingredients, compared supermarkets, calculated costs, modelled profit and loss, designed artwork and packaging, and now they’re baking delicious “Sports Moustaches” to be sold on Sports Day in support of the Middle School charity, Tehila.

Wood of Words

Josiah, Joy, Isaac and Sara had the privilege of performing a scene from Macbeth on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre stage. They produced “The Wood of Words” as part of the RSC National Playmaking Festival. They were treated like real actors at the RSC. They worked with the stage manager, director, costume and lights departments. again pressed return too soon… They were treated to their meals and overnight accommodation by the RSC. They made new friends from other schools in Bradford. Mrs Lush and Mrs Taylor were impressed by their performance and by the impeccable behaviour they displayed.

Headteacher’s Message

Our Mission

To provide a holistic Christian education for all and to inspire discipleship.

Our Vision

To be a Christian community in which everyone grows in character, faith, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

This academic year has been challenging for a number of reasons:

At the beginning of the year we lost Mrs Moffatt after a long battle with cancer. This didn’t stop her working right up unto the end, she worked from home. Her departure left big shoes to fill with jobs we knew about, and many she didn’t, and I welcome and thank her family representing her.

Not long after that Mr McGrail started his chemotherapy journey, following in those footsteps of working from home whilst having aggressive chemotherapy. He is currently in remission.

Our cleaner Nikki Harding, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in January, and is now being well looked after by her church family

Other members of staff have faced significant health challenges and grieved for lost family members

Despite this – God is God, God is good, lots of beautiful things have happened amidst loss and hurt.

This year we have focussed a lot of time on Christian Character. We haven’t ignored the other things, but character development has been at the forefront

We are unashamedly Christian in our approach – vision and mission stays central to what we do and decisions we make.

Thanks to all who came and celebrated our year with us this week, thanks to all who participated and all who helped out.

I repeat my words form last night

So amidst all the challenges, which we need to acknowledge,  we have much to be thankful for to our creator. I want to give thanks to God for the people I spend my days with – both big and little, the staff who give so much of themselves each day, parents for trusting us, and our wonderful student body as they grow and develop, knowing that they are children of God

and the governors who hold me accountable for running the school. Thank you

Thank you for joining us at our annual Celebration and Awards Evening. Thank you to Sunbridge Road Mission for hosting this year’s event!

Building Project

In July we are starting a building project, which involves demolishing Room 10 – the playground portacabin, and replacing it with a permanent structure including two classrooms. This work should hopefully be done by October half term.

The car park and bottom end of the playground will become a building site, meaning staff will be parked on the streets, and there will be no access through the big gate.

We will not be opening the gates for students until 8:45am each morning, when they will be directed through the side gate and around the long way into the playground. Please do not arrive earlier than this.

At the end of the day collection for primary children will stay the same, but for middle and upper students will be by the main entrance rather than by the large gate.

Please park carefully and thoughtfully, as spaces will be limited.

Thank you for your support of Bradford Christian School

Have a Blessed weekend! 😎
